Results, explained
Receive a digital report, typically 36–52 pages for adults, with charts and an interpretation prepared by the laboratory. Results need context: hair treatments, external contamination and collection methods can affect the findings.
A nutrition discussion
The laboratory prepares a supplement schedule and a seven-day menu with recipes. Review any proposed changes with a qualified professional, especially if you take medicines or have a medical condition.
Hair vs blood

Hair testing is not a more complete version of a blood test. The appropriate investigation depends on the question being asked.
Blood tests
Clinicians use validated blood tests, alongside symptoms and medical history, to investigate specific health concerns and monitor treatment.
A normal result does not mean persistent symptoms should be ignored. Your GP can advise on further assessment.
Hair mineral analysis
Measures elements in a hair sample. Interpretation is limited by external contamination, cosmetic treatments and differences in laboratory methods and reference ranges.
Hair results alone cannot establish a nutritional deficiency, diagnose poisoning, identify a cause of fatigue or reliably determine your supplement needs.
If you have symptoms, start with medical advice. Do not delay a GP appointment, stop prescribed treatment or use HMA results to self-treat suspected heavy metal exposure.

Collect & send your sample
Send your sample to our UK collection address at your own postage cost. We send consolidated courier shipments to our partner laboratory in Poland every Friday; this onward delivery is included.
Review your report
Receive your results and supporting guidance. Consider the limitations of the test and discuss health concerns with an appropriately qualified professional.

Before you order
Questions worth asking.
Can HMA diagnose deficiencies or my metabolic type?
This service is not offered as a diagnostic test for nutritional deficiencies, medical conditions or metabolic disorders. Hair measurements alone do not establish a clinically validated metabolic type or a medically necessary supplement regimen.
Can I use the results to choose supplements?
Consider the guidance alongside your diet, medicines and health history, rather than relying on hair results alone. Check supplements with a GP, pharmacist or appropriately qualified professional, particularly during pregnancy or breastfeeding, when taking medicines or when managing a medical condition.
What is measured?
The panel includes calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron and other elements, alongside arsenic, mercury, aluminium, cadmium, lead, thallium and beryllium. A measured value in hair does not by itself diagnose deficiency, toxicity or poisoning.
How long does the analysis take?
The laboratory quotes up to 10 working days after receiving both the hair sample and completed questionnaire, once the service is authorised to start. Without an express early-start request, we wait until your 14-day cancellation period has ended before starting the service. We send samples from the UK every Friday. Waiting for that dispatch and courier transit are additional to the laboratory processing time. This is not a guaranteed 10-day service from the date of your order.
What if my hair is coloured or treated?
Colouring, bleaching, hair products and external contamination can affect interpretation. Check the supplied collection instructions and ask our team about sample suitability before ordering or sending a sample.
Can I cancel my order?
If you cancel before sending your hair sample, we will refund your HMA order in full. Sending your sample or completing the questionnaire does not by itself remove your statutory cancellation rights. If you cancel within the cancellation period before any work has started, you receive a full refund even if your sample has already been sent or received.
For an online service contract, you normally have 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel. If you expressly request work to start during that period, a proportionate charge may apply for work supplied before cancellation. The right ends after full performance only where the required prior consent and acknowledgement have been obtained. Your statutory rights remain unaffected. To cancel, email contact@getbodyback.co.uk with a clear statement that you wish to cancel and your order details. You do not have to use a particular form. Refunds due following a statutory cancellation will be made without undue delay and within 14 days of your cancellation notice, using the original payment method unless you agree otherwise. How should I share information about my health?
Do not upload test reports or sensitive medical information to Athena. Your questionnaire is submitted directly to our partner laboratory through the link provided. Get Body Back does not store your completed questionnaire. Your sample is forwarded to Poland, where the laboratory prepares the report and plans. Read our privacy policy and request the HMA-specific information about recipients, retention and secure handling before submitting your questionnaire or sample.
